I'm paid to work as a data scientist. In my free time, I enjoy self hosting applications for me and my family. Occassionally I'll work on a programming project. Even less often I'll write an article for this website.

I've been daily driving linux since Summer of 2018. I used Ubuntu until I switched to NixOS in 2024 (after a few failed attempts previously.) You can look at my multi-system configuration (i.e. my dots) here. Based on how many commits this repo gets compared to all the others, its clear that I've lately been focusing on my home lab more than other programming projects.

What is Rutrum?

Rutrum was the name of my first World of Warcraft character (that I made in 2008) and has since been my online alias. Once I used rutrum my GitHub account, it stuck.
